CYTOLOGY
This procedure is a relatively simple one. We use a cotton swab to take cells from the vaginal wall of the bitch in season. We then examine these under the microscope to start to see the pattern and effectively determine the optimum time for breeding.
KEY POINTS
ONE
We recommend that testing starts on day 6/7 from the first day of bleeding.
TWO
Testing should be then carried out every other day until ovulation is confirmed and breeding instruction is given.
THREE
When we advise 'good for breeding' this is when your STUD should be available for mating.
